Buying a cheap drone is a very good introduction to remote-controlled flying experience and also could be a great present for someone else.
Compared to some expensive options these drones require the constant control from your side. Usually there's no auto hovering, automatic flying and they offer only basic stabilization features from built-it gyro. Crash packs are available for many mini-quads, too. Just remember that they're different: one pair rotates clockwise, the other pair anti-clockwise. Of course, the main feature of cheap drones is their price! You can easily find some cheap drones under 100 dollars today. Here are just some of them:
This 30$ small drone features compact design along with the 20 minutes flight time. The best part of this drone is its Application and 1080p@30fps camera. LeveTop could become a very good choice for a beginner. It does have Intelligent Flight technology for those who just started their drone experience for the first time.
Revell Proto Quad XS
This tiny thing is one of the smallest quads around at 28mm. Proto Quad can be stored on the controller itself. It has a six-axis gyro, three speed levels and the ability to perform flips. Unfortunately, it's harder to fly than larger models because of the sizes. Price: 50$
Parrot Mambo FPV
Parrot is the most expensive option from our list. The Mambo FPV comes with a basic VR headset which you can use with your phone for a true first person view of the flight!
There's a decent controller included. You can fly the drone without touching your phone's screen. Flight time is a bit short around eight minutes with the camera on board. Just remember that the camera isn't going to shoot any great video footage or photos (even if it can record video to a microSD card). This drone is for racing competitions! The price is around 180$. But you pay for the top features in cheap class drones.
Mota JetJat Nano
This is the smallest drone we've seen. It's just 22x22x20mm! As well as Revell Proto Quad XS, it's so tiny that it can fit into a controller container itself! And even the controller in not pretty big. It's currently out only in the US, Amazon pre-order price is 40$
All of these drones are unique and only you can choose which one is better for you. But we don't recommend you to spend a lot of money from start. You will definitely crash first 2-3 of them. Start with cheap drone and you will still get this unique experience of flying in your hands!
