Well control is the technique used in oil and gas operations such as drilling, well workover, and well completions for maintaining the fluid column hydrostatic pressure and formation pressure to prevent influx of formation fluids into the wellbore.
Well control is the technique used in oil and gas operations such as drilling, well workover, and well completions for maintaining the fluid column hydrostatic pressure and formation pressure to prevent influx of formation fluids into the wellbore. Oil well control is the management of the dangerous effects caused by the unexpected release of formation fluid, such as natural gas and/or crude oil, upon surface equipment of oil or gas drilling rigs and escaping into the atmosphere.
Carelessness in maintaining the pressure of fluids results in serious equipment damage, injury and in extreme cases it can even end in loss of life. Poorly managed well control situations lead to blow outs which causes loss of valuable resources and explosive expulsions of formation fluid which can cause fires. Sometimes it can even result in damage to the environment which is potentially more harmful than monetary losses in the long run. Due to all these reasons, IWCF Training becomes necessary and indispensable.
Well Control Training is important as it gives trainees the expertise needed in dealing with everyday situations, emergencies and accidents effectively. It provides trainees comprehensive knowledge of Well Control Theory and helps them hone their skills in said area. It prepares them mentally and physically for field work. The information in this course can also act as a guide for preventing calamities in the first place. In this environmentally conscious decade it is crucial to follow certain guidelines.
Fulfilling the requirements set by the IWFC is essential for working in this area. This course which is approved by IWFC ensures that you can adapt and operate easily in the field of well controlling. It prepares you for real field experience.
Our trainees at Crew Petro Private Limited become well versed in multiple areas such as Well Barriers, Roles & Responsibilities, Well Control Definitions & Concepts, Kick Tolerance, Kick Causes, Shallow Gas, Well Control Preparation, Well Shut-in Procedures, Gas Behaviours, Well Control Procedures, Vertical vs Deviated Well Control and Well Control Equipment. Successful completion of the course and examination will result in IWCF Certification (Level 3 or 4) which is valid for two years.
